Although you will not see the Zotero icon in your browser with the MLA International Bibliography database, you can still import these citations into Zotero.

  1. Go to to access the International Bibliography database
    • The "English Language & Literature" page will open in the UVa Library website
  2. Click MLA Bibliography in the "Best Databases for English Language & Literature" section at the top of the page
    • The "MLA International Bibliography" homepage will open
  3. Type a topic into the search fields
  4. Click Search on the right
    • A list of search results will appear
  5. Check the box next to one or more entries that you want to save to Zotero
  6. Click Save in the top right of the page
    • A drop-down menu will unfold
  7. Click RIS (works with EndNote, Citavi, etc.)
    • A dialog box will open
  8. Click Continue
    • A window showing the progress of the export will open
    • A pop-up window will appear, asking if you want to import the items into Zotero
  9. Click OK
    • A window showing the Zotero collection into which the citation(s) are being imported will appear
    • The item will appear in the middle column in Zotero
