SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics. Vector graphics is simply the use of geometrical principles, such as lines or curves, to represent images on a computer. SVG, because it allows for the creation of scalable images, makes images adjust automatically to the size and resolution of the window they appear in. It is also possible to animate SVG images, to make any text associated with them searchable, and to link to parts of them.
